LOTS of us have been the broken-hearted girl at one time of the other. After going through a heartbreak, some of us tend to do certain things to get rid of the hurt.

Yes, we should get rid of the hurt, but some of these habits are unhealthy, and frankly, expensive. Stuff like drinking till you can’t remember your name, binge eating your favourite ice cream, going on a shopping spree, or even things as extreme as quitting your job and binge-watching series. These things kinda work, until you see an old picture of both of you, and start to cry again.

Here’s how to deal with a broken heart without spending all of your money:

    1. Talk about it
Talking about things that bother you can be really therapeutic. And you don’t even need to pay a shrink to this. Just call a trusted friend and tell her you need to talk, then proceed to let it all out. Of course, she’ll be angry on your behalf and bash your ex, because that’s what friends do, but she doesn’t even have to say anything. Merely talking about everything that happened will make you feel better.

    2. Write about it

Writing about your feelings is also one great way to get over a bad breakup. Whenever you’re feeling blue, and those sad thoughts threaten to overwhelm, grab a notepad and a pen, and journal away. You will feel better.

    3. Work out
Some good old exercising is great when you’re trying to figure out how to deal with a broken heart. Some people work out to get a great bikini body, so the ex can see how great you’re looking and regret that he ever left you. Nahhhh. We say exercise for yourself. When you work out, your body produces endorphins that energize you and give you a more positive outlook on life.

    4. Cry

Having a good cry is another way to deal with a broken heart. Just lock yourself up and let the tears fall. There’s no therapy like the calm feeling afterward. (ZumiNg)
